How long is the standard warranty and what is covered?
In general, Trimble warrants its hardware products for a period of one year and its software products for a period of ninety days from date of delivery in accordance with the provisions of Trimble's standard terms and conditions of sale. Within the warranty period, Trimble will either repair or replace any hardware or software product that fails to conform to the above warranty, or refund the purchase price. The warranty applies only if the products are properly and correctly installed, maintained and operated. For further detail, please read relevant sections of Trimble's standard terms and conditions of sale.
Additionally, all MCS computer accessory products feature a one-year standard manufacturer warranty for materials and workmanship.
What extended warranty options are available and what is covered?
The extended warranty is available in terms of 1-4 years, which is in addition to the standard 1-year warranty term. For example, purchasing a 12-month extended warranty would provide coverage for 24 months from the date of purchase. The extended warranty extends the standard coverage to include accidental breakage, normal wear and tear as well as defects. The Extended Warranty does not cover PowerBoot Modules, battery packs or caps, nor does it cover consumable accessory items such as a screen protector, stylus or stylus tether, or any component that is not part of the unit core.
More details about what is covered by or excluded from the extended warranty can be found in Trimble's Extended Warranty FAQ.
Pricing and additional information on warranties is found on the accessory page of each device on our online store at the following link: Trimble from SDG Systems
I didn’t know about the extended warranty when I purchased my device, can I still purchase the extended warranty?
The extended warranty may be purchased at any time while the device is within the standard 1 year warranty period. However, the extended warranty term cannot be extended for additional years after the warranty has been purchased. For example, if a 12-month extended warranty was purchased the extended warranty would last for 24 months from the date of purchase and could not be extended with a 24-, 36-, or 48-month extended warranty.
